First State Karate (FSK) is holding its 3rd annual tournament. The Tournament is available for active First State Karate and Polander Academy of Martial Arts students only. Tournaments are a great way for martial artists to show off their skills and determination.

Students have a choice of competing in One, Two, Three or Four events. The events for each division are as follows: 

1. Kata - Empty Hand forms

2. Ippons - Self-defense techniques demonstration (MUST DEMONSTRATE 3 TECHNIQUES)

3. Pull The Obi - Safe and fun alternative to sparring (Only for Little Lions White Belt to Orange Stripe and Junior White Belts)

4. Sparring - Controlled point fighting competition (Only for Little Lions Blue Stripe and above and Junior/Adults Yellow Belt and above). COMPETITORS MUST HAVE THEIR OWN SPARRING GEAR. CHEST PROTECTORS CAN BE PROVIDED BY FSK. 

5. Weapons Kata (Only available for Blue Belts and Above). 

• Saturday March 23rd, 2024. Different divisions compete at different times. 
• We ask  that all competitors stay until their division is completed, even if they      are done competing. This is to hand out medals for those competitors that      did not win trophies. 
• Competitors that are late for their events will not be able to compete. 
• See Division times below to determine when competitors have to be present and      ready.

AWARDS 

• Placement Trophies (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) will be handed out after each event. 
• All Competitors that do not win a Trophy will receive a Tournament Medal for the courage, perseverance and attitude it takes to compete. Medals are handed out AFTER their division competitions are completed. 
• DO NOT get discouraged if you are in a division with higher belts than you. Kata's and ippons are scored and judged on belt level as it relates to the complexity of the technique you are performing.

• Two      Events: $100
• Three    Events: $150
• Four Events:    $210

• Payment      is due at time of registration. Payments can be made at the FSK front  desk, over the phone (302-273-0300) or an invoice can be sent via email.
• Payments are non-refundable unless the tournament or events are cancelled
